Indian Motorcycle returns to Biarritz as the title sponsor of Wheels & Waves for the third consecutive year, continuing a partnership that began in 2017. From Wednesday 12th to Sunday 16th June, the eighth edition of Wheels & Waves will again celebrate the joy and culture of motorcycling, surfing and skateboarding.
“From our first attendance in 2016, it was clear that this event was something quite special, and why we became title sponsors the following year,” says Grant Bester, Vice President and General Manager for Indian Motorcycle EMEA. “With such a diverse range of events and activities, it’s really unique and resonates with our owners. We’re delighted to be official partners once again in 2019 and look forward to seeing everyone there.”
Over five days, the Basque coast will play host to like-minded people for an eclectic mix of events, art, good food and great music, all emanating from the motorcycle, surf and skateboarding scenes. On every day at Wheels & Waves there will be:
- A Village of tents and stands at the Cité de l’Océan
- Surfing contests, depending on weather conditions
- Skateboarding sessions & contest
- Music concerts
- Screening of films and documentaries on motorcycle, surfing, skateboarding
- And a schedule of special events across multiple venues
Organised by Jérôme Allé and Julien Azé, the theme for the eighth edition is ‘Back to the roots’. Jérôme Allé explains: “We really want to revive the spirit of Wheels & Waves origins, based on meeting and sharing different worlds and cultures, this enthusiasm and energy that allow us to live, for a few days, a unique experience in our life.”
Indian Motorcycle will add to the experience once again with its Wall of Death spectacle in the main village, while Indian Motorcycle DTRA Hooligans will be over the border on the Saturday at San Sebastian, Spain for a day of racing in the El Rollo Flat Track event.
