You learn something new every day: we have our own style of handlebars! Actually that refers to wide bars with a narrow base at the clamps and a decent rise, and ‘British’ comes from the old English Brit twins handlebars’ 3-inch centres, and makes a surprising amount of difference to the look of a bike.
They are calling it sixties slim styling and these undimpled 1-inch bars are now available through W&W in Germany, manufactured by FORK in Japan for use on American bikes: who said globalisation is a bad thing?
Of course, you do need to account for that handlebar spacing – 3½-inch on Harley telescopics or 4¾ on Springers – so you’ll need one of FORK’S handlebar risers.
