Big Inch Milwaukee Eight upgrades

As we’ve been seeing with Boz’s tech articles, S&S have put a massive amount of work into their Milwaukee Eight programme and to good effect.

These brand new 124” and 128” Power Packages are bolt-in kits have taken things to new heights, including not just barrels and pistons but a 550 cam, billet cam plate, high-flow oil pump, valve springs and Quickee pushrods with lifters and tubes!

To save confusion, these are 4¼ big bore kits, and will make 124 cubic inches on a 107-inch motor and 128 on a 114 with its increased stroke.

And it’s all bolt-in – no machining is required – although I would stop well short of recommending that you set an afternoon aside over your Christmas break and set-to. This is serious engineering and it needs fitting properly if you’re hoping to realise a fraction of the potential it can unleash.

And, of course, you’ll be looking at a fuel map at the very least … and an exhaust and air cleaner.

And one of two head bolt kits, because the oem bolts are designed as single-use items and will need replacing.
