An excellent match for RSD Clash jacket, insofar as it picks up on the exible ribbed leather that ensures a snug fit and they incorporate elements that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to find in a good looking glove, these Dezel shorty gloves – aka THE DIESEL – are as close to a modern racing glove as I’ve ventured.
I’m normally put off by the bright colours, branding and visibility of the armour, which I think would look silly when riding a Shovelhead … and a Buell, if I’m honest.
These, though, are a different matter.
Yes, they do have the padded knuckles, reinforced and padded palms and are very modern, but despite their technology they look timeless with your hand inside.
Tight-fitting, these are a riding season glove with perforations on the underside of the finger to let heat out rather than keep it in, and a zip running the length of the back of your hand means they are easy to put on and take off, even when hot. Tha
t also offers you a flash of a perforated red leather gusset that keeps any hair out of the zip, and which matches a textile liner that isolates your hand from the inside of the ribbed leather.
An excellent riding glove, although I would prefer a little more length on the velcro strap that finishes on the top of the zipper, allowing it to be closed more loosely on a hot day.
