I do hope so, because Cannonball are making inroads into sacred\u00a0territory, making kits for bikes that were born to be kicked into life.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry, they\u2019re tucked well out of the way and we won\u2019t tell\u00a0anyone if you don\u2019t, and they don\u2019t displace the original kicker.<\/p>\n

There are two basic types, both of which put a starter motor\u00a0behind the transmission.<\/p>\n

The SSC \u2013 StealthStarter Clutch \u2013 engages with the revised clutch\u00a0hub with a starter sprocket and an updated primary and fits hardtail\u00a0Big Twins from 1937 through to 1957, with a slight difference in\u00a0primary chain tensioners and the sprockets on a separate version for\u00a01955-57 models.<\/p>\n

Both require some drastic cutting of the inner primary chaincase\u00a0\u2013 the starter ring gear is in line with the tin itself \u2013 and you will need\u00a0to make way for both the hardware that supports the chain tensioner\u00a0at the front and the Bendix at the rear, so you might want to think\u00a0about a new one if you don\u2019t want to cut old tin. It\u2019s worth noting,\u00a0too, that the semi-exposed starter ring would benefit from cleaning\u00a0and a dab of grease occasionally.<\/p>\n
