{"id":5258,"date":"2019-12-16T18:58:49","date_gmt":"2019-12-16T18:58:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/?p=5258"},"modified":"2020-01-08T21:47:45","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T21:47:45","slug":"sharks-new-modular-helmets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/hub\/sharks-new-modular-helmets\/","title":{"rendered":"Shark\u2019s new modular Helmets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"western\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Until Roof came along, there were Jet, full-face and system helmets, and Roof converted a lot of Jet helmet wearers into their then-unique semi full-face, because not only did the chin guard lift up, but it rotated all the way round to the back of the helmet \u2013 rather than sitting up like a medieval knight\u2019s visor \u2013 offering the best of both worlds.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The downside was that they only fitted a certain shape of head \u2013 bad news if you\u2019ve got a chin that fall outside the arc of the chin guard\u2019s arc \u2013 but on the bright side, their fellow Frenchmen, Shark, weren\u2019t far behind them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The styling is more modern \u2013 and it has more space for a chin, even managing to miss mine, which is a first \u2013 and only you\u2019ll know whether that suits you, and they have just launched two new models. It incorporates all of the improvements to the design in a single helmet, including the patented \u2018Auto-Up\/Auto-Down\u2019 system that prevents any kind of clash between the chin-piece and visor \u2013 basically, a clever cam that moves the visor out of the way when you move the chin guard in either direction, while still allowing very close tolerances and \u2018panel fit\u2019 as car manufacturers would call it, for reduced noise. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/368_1_EVOJET_dual_AKA_34Lfront_HE8805-e1578519539786.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5259 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/368_1_EVOJET_dual_AKA_34Lfront_HE8805-e1578519539786-250x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"186\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/368_1_EVOJET_dual_AKA_34Lfront_HE8805-e1578519539786-250x300.png 250w, https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/368_1_EVOJET_dual_AKA_34Lfront_HE8805-e1578519539786-200x240.png 200w, https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/368_1_EVOJET_dual_AKA_34Lfront_HE8805-e1578519539786-100x120.png 100w, https:\/\/american-v.cso2w.com\/hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/368_1_EVOJET_dual_AKA_34Lfront_HE8805-e1578519539786.png 578w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 186px) 100vw, 186px\" \/><\/a>More exciting is the <\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>EVOJET<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, which is more than a jet with a chin guard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">It looks like the best-vented full-face helmet on the market, except that what look like massive vents beneath the main shield are actually just at a different angle, and the closure is complete. And its party trick is that the chin guard that locks securely onto the shell of the main helmet is permanently bonded to the visor itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The downside will be that a replacement visor won\u2019t be cheap, but it does offer better peripheral visibility than most full face helmets and it looks quite funky.
