It\u2019s surprising how recently air filters emerged: it wasn\u2019t that long ago that carbs had rear facing air \u2018horns\u2019 to keep dirt \u2013 and trousers \u2013 out of your carburettor rather than abrasive dust, then a mesh was added and that mesh has just got finer over time. <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This cast, tumbled-finish aluminium scoop \u2013 with a stainless-steel mesh to catch bigger insects and stones \u2013 will feed enough air to the carb to supply even a big-inch engine and looks funky when doing so, but does nothing to reduce induction roar: a win-win situation then?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
