Many described the XR1200 as being the best Sportster that Harley ever made \u2013 certainly in terms of its engine \u2013 but it didn’t break out of its genre in the way that the Motor Company hoped. The haters \u2013 in my experience \u2013 were a generation who spent as much time banging-on about why it should have a VR motor in it as moaning about how anachronistic the venerable 4-valve OHV XL motor was in a modern format.<\/p>\n

This just might be the answer. It certainly takes Harley into a completely new place and will give their detractors something to think about, especially if the new motor is an evolved VR motor, with decent power on tap.<\/p>\n
